Zapier has now a new friend! Introducing StoryXpress and Zapier integration

When it comes to video automation, StoryXpress has no competition. However, automating workflows and establishing synchronization between your favorite apps is a completely different ballgame. None does it better than the Zapier! 

In an era where technology is growing at an exponential rate, the need to automate workflows among different apps has become inevitable. Thanks to Zapier for providing a platform that lets you integrate different apps without any prior knowledge of programming.

As rightly explained by Jenny Bloom, Zapier “is an online automation tool that connects your favorite apps such as Gmail, Slack, MailChimp, and over 1,000 more. You can connect two or more apps to automate repetitive tasks without coding or relying on developers to build the integration.”

Why do you need this integration?

Let’s say someone from your workspace has created a new video on StoryXpress. Now, they want their entire team to know about this video. 

The question is: 

How will anyone who isn’t involved in the video creation process get to know that a new video has gone live?   

1. Log into StoryXpress every time they want to know whether or not a new video has been created. 
2. The person creating it informs the team that a new video has been pushed. 

All these methods are cool! However, wouldn’t it be great if one can automate the entire process of getting notified? Meaning, everyone in the team shall be automatically notified the moment a new video is created. 

This is why StoryXpress has decided to provide its users with a video platform that comes loaded with the automation prowess of Zapier as well. Here, in the following steps, you will learn how to integrate the two platforms, StoryXpress and Zapier, to get the best of both worlds.

Let’s dive in

• Creating a Zap

First login to your Zapier account, and then click on make a zap on the top bar

After you click on make a zap, a new screen will appear. In this screen, you will have the settings to configure for zap. You can type StoryXpress in the search box of “Choose App & Event” and select it to move further.

• Choosing Trigger event

From the “Choose Trigger Event” dropdown select Video Created on Storyxpress and click on continue. As you will click on continue, a page will appear where you will log in

After login, you will be able to successfully configure the StoryXpress trigger. 

What’s Next?

Setting up StoryXpress was just one step towards automation, now comes the question of which application you want to be updated about the information.

In Zapier’s term, we call them Action.

After setting your trigger as StoryXpress you can now have configured any app to perform certain actions against your trigger, We have chosen Google Spreadsheet(you can choose any apps from Zapier for this step)

You can also test the integration

Once you have completed the configuration you need to turn on the integration from the top-right side.

Now, whenever a new video is created on storyxpress your spreadsheet will be updated with details. This makes easier for you to focus on work, and if any important information comes you can set store them in one single app.

That’s it you can now easily have a Storyxpress zap running within a few minutes.

What else can we do?

You can integrate other interesting apps as well to your StoryXpress platform. Take Slack for instance. By integrating slack with StoryXpress, you can automatically notify your entire team about a new video. 

You can also have more than one app at a time to update information. For example, you can have a spreadsheet and slack both connected to StoryXpress in a single Zap.
